El cañon del Jabalí (Jabalí Canyon)

The Jabalí Canyon is located on the multicolored banks of the Santo Domingo River, whose cause and surrounding vegetation are the main attractions. During the dry season (December-July), a variety of alternative tourism activities are available, such as kayaking, fishing and swimming. Another important aspect to consider is the local gastronomy, which offers a great variety of autochthonous dishes. This wonderful place is ideal for small adventure groups or incentive trips. The managers of the ecotourism center sustainably plant corn, beans, coffee and fruit trees in their gardens and plots, and part of this is destined for visitors' consumption; these actions are linked to biodiversity-friendly practices for the ecotourism project.

Leaving from the municipal seat of Comitán de Domínguez to the crossing to Lagunas de Montebello National Park, travel 127 km along the southern border highway until you reach the turnoff to the community of Jerusalén, where you take the access that goes to Ejido Las Nubes. Only 3 km away on the banks of the Santo Domingo River you will find the Cañón del Jabalí facilities.
