The Pampa Honda Snook Fishing Tournament is one of the most anticipated coastal events in Mapastepec, Chiapas. Its goal: to reward the angler who catches the largest snook. Held on the beach of Pampa Honda ranchería, the tournament brings together over 110 fishers from Mapastepec, neighboring municipalities, and other southeastern states of Mexico.
Prizes are awarded for the largest and heaviest snook, as well as the fastest catch, making the competition both thrilling and challenging. For each edition, more participants and visitors are expected to join in this exciting coastal event.
The local community, supported by the Municipal Government and the Department of Tourism, welcomes tourists with open arms. The tournament not only strengthens community spirit but also promotes gastronomy, local commerce, and coastal tourism, turning the event into a total success each year.
