Nueva Alianza (NMX)

Located on the banks of the sacred Usumacinta River, which serves as the border between Mexico and Guatemala; besides being the fluvial link with the archaeological zone of Yaxchilán and the archaeological zone of Tikal located in the neighboring country of Guatemala.

Nueva Alianza is responsible for providing tourist services to visitors and also for protecting and conserving the area's natural resources, history and traditions of their ancestors. In the community there is a small museum that displays some stelae from nearby archeological sites and from Yaxchilán itself.

How to get there?

From Palenque you take the highway to Ocosingo until the Shupá crossing, then take the southern border highway until the turnoff that leads to Frontera Corozal (160 km approx.). You drive 15 km more on the highway to the guardhouse (at this guardhouse they will charge you $30.00 MXN per person). Inside the town drive all the asphalt roads and before you reach the museum there is a road on the left with a sign announcing the hotel.
