Tacana Chiquihuites Volcano Tourist Center

It is considered the highest peak in southeastern Mexico and is located between Mexico and Guatemala, where it begins the series of volcanoes in Central America. Its great altitude (4,100 m) allows it to verify all the climatic levels and types of vegetation of the Sierra Madre, like in no other place of the State and of all the southeast. Imposing volcanoes on the dividing line of the countries of Mexico and Guatemala.

How to get there

Leaving Unión Juárez, travel 3 km of paved road to the town of Talquián; then approximately 7 km of dirt road to the town of Chiquihuites (leaving Tapachula 1 hour and 15 minutes).
