Pressed peach

This sweet is the pride of the fruit candy store in San Cristóbal de Las Casas.

A real delight! Pride of the San Cristóbal candy store. They are packed in small boxes made of pine wood, which gives them a unique flavor.

Durazno prensado

Preparation time: 4 hours

Ingredients
  1. 25 pcs. Large peaches from the region
  2. 750 gr. Sugar
  3. 250 gr. Charcoal ashes
  4. Sufficient water.
Preparation
  1. Soak the peaches in water with the ash for 8 hours, then remove and wash to remove the lint.
  2. In a saucepan place the peaches, cover them with water, add sugar and boil over low heat, stir constantly so that they do not stick. When the honey is at its point, remove it from the heat and place it on a rack to drain the honey.
  3. once they are dry, they are placed in small wooden boxes.
Tips:

You can omit placing the peaches in the boxes, however the flavor that characterizes this sweet is provided by the wood where they are made.
