This natural area extends over 3,368.35 hectares of high jungle, with unique species of flora and fauna. The Metzabok lagoon gives us the wonder of its blue color, the green of its mountains, the mystery of the cave that keeps archaeological remains of the ancestors, it gives us the trace of cave paintings cataloged with antiquity of more than 2000 years, there is magic, enigma, history, culture and human warmth.
Lacandones live in that place, most of them are dedicated to agriculture like any peasant in the surroundings, some of them offer rides in rowing canoes to visitors.
