Gaznate sweet

Succulent sweet consisting of a flour flake roll filled with meringue

If there is something that you should not miss, it is this roll of flour flake filled with meringue, a typical sweet ideal for the craving.

Gaznate

Preparation time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Ingredients
  1. 6 pcs. Egg yolks.
  2. 500 gr. Wheat flour
  3. 60 gr. Royal
  4. 50 ml. Orange juice.
  5. 2 ml. Oil
Filling
  1. 12 egg whites
  2. 450 gr. Powdered Sugar
Preparation
  1. Make a dough with the flour, baking powder, the yolks and the orange juice.
  2. Beat the whites and add the sugar little by little until it has a meringue consistency and reserve.
  3. Preheat the oil.
  4. Spread the dough with the help of a rolling pin and cut it into squares of 10 cm x 10 cm.
  5. Roll the dough in wooden tubes 10cm long and fry them.
  6. Once the tubes have been browned, remove them carefully, drain and fill them with the meringue.
Tips:

It is recommended to prepare an Italian or Swiss meringue for greater stability.
