Coyol candy

Dulce de coyol

Preparation time: 2 hours

Ingredients
  1. 800 gr. Brown sugar loaf (panela)
  2. 10 gr. Cinnamon
  3. 1 kg. Peeled colconaves (coyol)
  4. 1 l. Water
  5. 4 pcs. Star anise
Preparation
  1. With a wooden mallet, crush the colconaves and then wash them.
  2. Boil the water with the brown sugar and cinnamon; When it comes to a boil, drop the colconaves and cook for 2 hours or until the syrup thickens.
Tips:

You can substitute the brown sugar for regular sugar.
