Quechula Church
Grijalva River
5th. Oriente Norte No. 424-A, Centro, Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
A walk to the west of Chiapas, to have visions of the colonial and agricultural past of the region where native Zoque language speakers still survive, descendants of the legendary Olmecs. The adventure adds to the experience when we take our boat and tour the dam for an hour before arriving and getting to know one of the most enigmatic colonial temples in Chiapas, built by the Dominican order in the 17th century with a baroque style and as a result of the elevation of the waters of the Grijalva or Mezcalapa river, it is now in the middle of the great artificial lake.
After the visit that includes that we can visit and swim in this dam, we return to the property to enjoy a gastronomic experience made with vegetables from the region that will accompany a Tilapia or Tenguayaca mojarra that are grown in the reservoir. Our Experience continues with a walk through the cocoa plantation that supplies seeds to the famous Kakaw Museum in San Cristóbal, since with the seeds grown here they make chocolates that participate in world chocolate events. At the end of a sensory workshop to discover the magic of cocoa, we will generate experiences that will integrate all our senses.
