In Comitán you can buy samples of the popular art of the region such as shawls, basketry, saddlery and palm products, as well as wooden tableware. The city's goldsmiths also produce gold filigree, it is also possible to observe the making of textiles in the traditional way in the House of Culture.
Toys, wood carving, cut paper, basketry, saddlery and cabinetmaking are some of the practices that can still be found in the workshops that survive on the streets of Comitán, and continue to nurture popular art in Chiapas.
