Description:

Chiapa de Corzo, Magical Town known for its legendary festivities and colorful handicrafts in which the joy of its culture and the love for the nature and vegetation of the place are reflected. Toles, pumpos, chests, crosses, are some objects that are used as canvas to capture this tradition with shine and texture known as "lacquer".

Among the variety of artisan studios that open their doors to tourism with the experience of lacquer from Chiapa de Corzo, we find Artesanías Los Gemelos, a family-run workshop that has years of experience brushing and lacquering.

In this activity, it is possible to know the whole process of this technique, from the selection of the appropriate wood, through hand carving and finally choosing the perfect colors to obtain an authentic Chiapas result.

The entire process is based on the history of Chiapa de Corzo, from the emergence and evolution of lacquer, and the recognition of the head of the Suárez Coutiño family, an unmissable artistic experience.
