Ejido Copoya
In the heart of the Zoque Culture, Copoya is a small town that belongs to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, its name means place where the moon hides. Walking through its streets is enjoying the view offered by its colorful constructions made with adobe, brick, tiles, among other artisanal materials that protect emblematic murals in which the traditions, uses and customs of the Zoque culture are reflected. In this magical place, you can find the highest monumental Christ in the world, which at the same time gives us an incredible view of the capital, the beautiful Tuxtla Gutierrez, from the impressive Mactumatzá hill and in the distance, you can admire the imposing Sumidero Canyon.
Touring Copoya is to get involved by its authenticity, letting yourself be carried away by the flavors of Zoque gastronomy such as zispolá broth, putzazé or the baked cochito, and live the joy of its traditional dances and living an authentic rural experience.
