Crafts of San Cristóbal de las Casas

As one of the most important economic centers of Chiapas and the most important of the Altos, San Cristóbal de Las Casas displays in its many commercial corridors beautiful samples of amber, textiles, pottery, toys, iron forging, basketry and many other products. The city also presents modern proposals in the use of traditional techniques, such as jewelry, which takes up the use of amber, jade, and clothing. Also notable is the production of paper from bark, herbs, and flowers.
