Chocohuital

Located 54 kilometers from the city of Tapachula. It is an open sea beach and on the other side there is an estuary full of mangroves. You can do beach sports activities.

The society "Lancheros de Chocohuital", offer the services of nautical tourist tours in the estuary, where you can observe aquatic birds, crocodiles, alligators, flora characteristic of the area such as: the red mangrove and the chocohuite tree (from which the name of the community), here the visitor can do recreational fishing activities, swimming, kayaking, walks to the boca barra, where the connection of the sea (Pacific Ocean) with the estuary is appreciated, in addition to trying the delicious typical seafood dishes of the región.


 


In Chocohuital there is also a place called Refugio del Sol, which is an enchanted paradise that attracts those who like nature without forgetting the passion for originality. Refugio del Sol offers a new concept of luxury in the middle of a tropical environment full of mangroves and the sound of the waves of the sea.


 
Flora

This place is surrounded by different species, such as: charagallo, cedar, spring, oak, guanacaste, chicha, white mangrove, red mangrove, mango, nance, orange, almond, guava, guanaba, lemon, cocoa, coconut tree, coyol, cuchunuc, guapinol, morro, palo mulato, quebracho, water hyacinth, mother of salt and zapote.

 
Fauna

In this place there are species such as: the lizard, wild boar, night monkey, turtle, boa, river iguana, chachalaca, green heron, parrot, giant fisherman, tufted magpie, little diver, armadillo, hare, bat, white-tailed deer, Striped skunk, river crocodile, stream snake, stork, spoonbill, stiletto heron, pijiji, mangrove tecolotino, raccoon, porcupine, tepezcuintle, badger, alligator, seagull, tern and pelican.
