Hacienda La Valdiviana, Hacienda El Zapote, Hacienda Las Cruces and Hacienda Llano Grande
Route of the Haciendas, Cintalapa
Pan-American Highway El Cero - Arriaga
The haciendas tour, almost an hour from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, is a rural tourism experience that encompasses the iconic places of the Cintalapa Valley; an opportunity to create connections with the native cultures of the region and to appreciate traditional practices that have been preserved through generations. El Zapote, La Valdiviana, Las Cruces and Llano Grande are the names of these buildings that were part of a golden age for Chiapas through the production of henequen and whose doors open exclusively to the tourist route, allowing the visitor to enter their wide corridors to marvel at its exquisite furniture and appreciate the historic temples or chapels that show the passage of time in their architectural details.
It is known that these farms date from the 16th century, mostly of colonial architecture with neoclassical intervention, which maintain livestock and agriculture as their main economic activities and even, some of them integrate the production of red deer and peacocks in their day to day.
The final part of the tour is the Rosendo Salazar dam or "Tolán" known by some as the capital of the world. Its landscape quality offers a visual attraction for tourism, since the flora and fauna located to the south-southeast of the dam finds its limit with the “La Sepultura” Biosphere Reserve, presenting its own characteristics due to its proximity.
