Ocozocoautla, Cintalapa
Known place
Of the 184 species of mammals present in the State of Chiapas, 66% (121) of the species potentially inhabit the El Ocote area and among the species considered endangered are the howler monkey, the spider monkey and the tapir. In this reserve there are more than two thousand species of plants and fungi and more than five thousand species of invertebrates.
Entering into this two-day experience in the Río La Venta Canyon is to enter the journey of a different world, where nature rests, and surprises the visitor at every moment with millenary geological formations, more than 87 thousand years old. You can admire karst formations and cliffs over 500 meters high, among other wonders. The main attraction of this experience is the highest natural arch on the planet, a stone arch 158 meters high, 255.5 meters long and 35 meters wide, without a doubt it is the true meaning of the word “imposing”.
The journey through the Rio La Venta Canyon is a unique tour, to get to the Arch of Time is a challenge, but being there represents something difficult to forget and impossible to stop admiring.
