Our recommendations for your trip

Chiapa de Corzo is a colonial site of tradition and culture, framed with the warmth of its people, its location makes it a city of hot and humid climate, so here we have some suggestions for you:

  • The best months to visit it are from November to May when there is generally no rain.
  • Keep in mind that the months of April, May and June are the hottest (between 39º. to 42º). Don’t forget to wear cool clothing, preferably cotton, linen or a hat to mitigate the sun's rays and a long sleeve shirt if you make the river tour to the Sumidero Canyon.
  • Comfortable shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen are a must.
  • Between June and the beginning of October the rains are very frequent and it is necessary to bring an umbrella or raincoat.
  • There are three boat cooperatives for the Sumidero Canyon river tour. Take into account that if you are traveling alone, you will have to take the collective service, minimum 10 people, otherwise you will have to pay for the special or private service and the cost will increase.
