Much of the magic of Comitán is its gastronomy that reflects the mixture of both cultures. The traditional sausage and the compound bread are emblems that Europeans brought when entering the wheat and the way of making different breads, as well as the use of pork as the basis of almost all the dishes of this beautiful destination.

Currently Comitán has become an exponent of gastronomic roots with all the establishments that have been created not only of traditional cuisine but also of avant-garde cuisine inspired by traditional dishes.
